Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you pay through PayMe — by payment link, in store, or at a PayMe terminal.

Version 1.0 Effective date 12 July 2026 Governing law Dutch law

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you (the “Shopper”) make a payment that is processed through the PayMe platform — whether you pay a payment link, pay in a shop at a PayMe terminal, or tap your card on a merchant’s device.

They are issued by Payme B.V., trading as PayMe (“PayMe”, “we”), a company registered in the Netherlands under Chamber of Commerce number 98308157, with its registered office in Amsterdam.

Note

This English text is the version we publish. If we later publish a Dutch version and the two differ, the Dutch version prevails.

2. What PayMe does

PayMe operates a payment platform. We give businesses (each a “Merchant”) the software and terminals they need to accept payments from their customers.

Payments are processed through Adyen N.V., a payment service provider regulated by De Nederlandsche Bank. PayMe facilitates the transaction as the platform.

PayMe does not sell the goods or services you are paying for, and PayMe is not a party to the purchase agreement between you and the Merchant. That agreement is between you and the Merchant alone.

3. Paying through PayMe

  • One-off payment. A payment made through a payment link is a single payment, made at the moment you pay.
  • Reusable links. Where a link is expressly marked as reusable — for example a donation link — it can be used more than once, until it expires or the Merchant deactivates it.
  • Card details. Your card details are captured and processed by Adyen. PayMe does not store your card number.
  • Confirmation. Once your payment succeeds you receive confirmation, and a receipt where the Merchant has enabled them.

4. The merchant’s responsibilities

The Merchant you pay is the seller and supplier of the goods or services. The Merchant is responsible for:

  • the goods or services themselves, and their description and price;
  • delivering or performing them;
  • any warranty or guarantee;
  • handling returns, cancellations and refunds;
  • their own terms of sale, and their own handling of your personal data.

If something is wrong with your order, contact the Merchant you paid. They are the party who can resolve it.

5. Delivery

PayMe provides payment services only. We do not deliver any goods or services ourselves.

Delivery times, delivery methods and the regions served are set by the Merchant and are the Merchant’s responsibility. The Merchant states them at the point of sale or in their own terms.

For any question about delivery, contact the Merchant you paid.

6. Returns, cancellations and refunds

Returns, cancellations and refunds are handled by the Merchant, under the Merchant’s own policy and applicable consumer law.

  • How to request one. Contact the Merchant you paid. PayMe cannot approve a refund on a Merchant’s behalf.
  • How a refund reaches you. Once the Merchant approves it, the refund is returned through Adyen to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer determines how long it takes to appear.
  • Your statutory rights. Where you buy as a consumer, you may have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. Whether it applies depends on the Merchant and on what you bought — some purchases, such as tailored goods or a service you asked to start immediately, are excluded by law.

For a question about the payment processing itself — rather than the order — contact us at [email protected].

7. Third parties involved

Party Role
Payme B.V. Operates the payment platform and facilitates the transaction.
Adyen N.V. Payment service provider, regulated by De Nederlandsche Bank. Processes the payment and executes refunds.
The Merchant Sells and supplies the goods or services, and handles delivery, returns and refunds.

8. Your personal data

We process personal data to complete your payment, to prevent fraud, and to meet our legal obligations. How we do that — what we collect, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have — is set out in our Privacy Statement.

The payment page itself is hosted by Adyen. Cookies on that page are governed by Adyen’s own cookie and privacy statement.

9. Complaints

If your complaint is about the goods or services, the delivery, or a refund, raise it with the Merchant.

If your complaint is about the payment processing — a payment that failed, was taken twice, or that you do not recognise — contact us at [email protected] and we will investigate.

10. Liability

PayMe is responsible for the correct processing of your payment through the platform. PayMe is not liable for the goods or services you bought, for their delivery, or for the Merchant’s performance of the purchase agreement — those are the Merchant’s responsibility.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Dutch law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law.

Any dispute will be submitted to the competent court in the district of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules — if you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
